Usain Bolt grew up in Sherwood Content, Jamaica, and won his first world junior title at 15. He became a global name at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he won the 100 m and 200 m in world record times.
He set the 100 m record of 9.58 and the 200 m record of 19.19 at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. Both still stand. He retired in 2017 with eight Olympic gold medals.
